We are a team of friendly and knowledgable professionals who genuinely care about you and your health. We take pride in our service and our primary focus is to help you achieve the results you are looking for in a caring and supportive way.

Our therapists have areas of special interests which may range from musculoskeletal & sporting injuries to vertigo, pre/post natal, work injuries to NDIS/disabilities and neurological conditions. Speak to our friendly front desk staff and they can advise who is the best therapist for you.

Kylie has been a practising physiotherapist for nearly 30 years. 

She worked at the world-renowned Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in London as the Superintendent Physiotherapist (Physiotherapists in Charge) in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. 

After five years, Kylie returned to Australia to work in Sports Medicine Clinics and inpatients orthopaedics / paediatric care at Cabrini Private Hospital in Malvern. She returned to her home country town of Ararat, founding Ararat Physio & Co with Jess Tucker in 2014.

Kylie has worked as a regular treating physiotherapist for members of the Geelong Football Club and the Geelong Supercats.

She was awarded a Fellowship to the University of Melbourne for service and commitment to the education of undergraduate physiotherapists. 

Kylie is also an experienced Clinical Pilates and Yoga Teacher with more than 400 hours of yoga teacher training under her belt.

She is described as professional, knowledgeable and thorough in her approach. Kylie’s unique style has an awareness of the integration of your experiences, emotions and your body with your ability to thrive.

You will know you are in safe and experienced hands and leave your very first consultation feeling clear and confident in your assessment and in your treatment plan.

Outside of work, Kylie can be found on a mountain somewhere, practising yoga or at soccer cheering for her son's team.

Kylie Plunkett

Having graduated as a Physiotherapist nearly 20 years ago, Jess has a wide range of experience in many areas of physiotherapy. She has worked in both the hospital system and private practice as well as workplaces including Jabiluka mine.  

Jess has been a course presenter for the Sports Trainer course, GP training, manual handling to local councils, mining and manufacturing sectors.

Jess has completed a key performance indicator on the effectiveness of Clinical Pilates in conjunction with La Trobe University. She has completed numerous professional development courses in clinical pilates, understanding pain, vestibular rehabilitation and aquatic therapy.

Jess’s passion for physiotherapy and supporting you in your wellness journey shines through.Jess spends the time to understand your problem and you will leave a session with Jess knowing that she has your story.

Jess has a special interest in chronic pain and gently guides you to wellness with her encouraging and compassionate approach. Jess has been described as light-hearted, supportive and a guiding light.

Living on a farm with 3 boys and her husband, Jess understands rural life and is passionate about connecting country people to greater health.

JESS TUCKER

Lisa has practiced as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist for over 10 years. After graduating from the University in Ballarat in 2010, Lisa has worked in the Ararat region, specialising in exercise therapy for chronic health conditions, musculoskeletal injuries and health promotion.

Lisa is actively involved in local sporting clubs and has a sound knowledge of our community’s health needs. Her superpower is in conducting her range of classes, Tai Chi, Pilates, pre-post natal exercise, aquatic therapy classes, strength training and general fitness. She is also experienced in working with NDIS participants and functional assessments.

Lisa believes our bodies are made to move: when we are not moving, things start going wrong both physically and mentally. There are so many modes of exercise, it’s just a matter of finding your perfect fit.

Outside of work, Lisa is committed to her family raising two children and a husband. Lisa is a veteran netball player having clocked more than 100 games.

She also runs, cycles, participates in triathlons and raises money annually for the East Grampians Health Service as part of the Murray to Moyne cycling team.

LISA HADDOW

Mitch graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Hons) from Central Queensland University  in 2020. Since graduating he has been able to gain experience in private practice on the Sunshine Coast, mostly working with musculoskeletal injuries. 

His passions lay in the management of lower limb & running based injuries, pre- & post-operative management, and general musculoskeletal conditions. Mitch has also completed further coursework and is certified to run the GLA:D program for management of those with hip or knee osteoarthritis.

Mitch’s aims when working with people is to ensure they feel listened to & working together to reach goals, both big and small.

Outside of work, Mitch’s interests include sport (football, cricket), photography, fitness and embracing the great outdoors. Having recently moved from sunny Queensland, he is ready to embrace all the cold weather Ararat has to offer.

MITCHELL Hill

Hannah graduated from Charles Sturt University in 2016 with a Degree in Physiotherapy, then moved to Ballarat where she worked in the private hospital system, as well as a Private Practice. With this combination of roles, she gained valuable experience in the fields of respiratory, cardiac, post operative rehab, musculoskeletal, ICU and neurological Physiotherapy.  

Hannah developed a home visit program to deliver therapy to disabled clients in their homes, unlocking access to rehabilitation for these clients. She has also worked with a Neurological client base, in the NDIS and TAC.

Hannah has a particular passion for Neurological Physiotherapy, NDIS, Women’s Health / pre and post natal therapy. She is a strong advocate for the use of exercise in treatment and healing of all injuries.

Hannah grew up in a regional town in NSW.

Hannah McLean

Thea has a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science, graduating from Evolve College, Ballarat with a Diploma of Remedial Massage Therapy in 2021. She also has a background in independent health coaching.

Thea provides hands-on relief from musculoskeletal tension through remedial, sports and deep tissue massage therapy. She has treated a range of clients from postural imbalances of the general population to sporting athletes.

Thea's health coaching included helping people with their health goals, including losing weight, increase energy, and improving overall health through independent nutritional supplementation. She is very passionate about health eating and exercise to support a health active lifestyle.

Thea is originally from Ararat, and with her family moving back and some adorable nieces added to the family she is looking forward to spending more time with them over the weekends.

THEA Hinchliffe

Riley is an enthusiastic Allied Health Assistant in his final year of his Bachelor of Physiotherapy degree at ACU (Ballarat). His main interests are in the musculoskeletal and rehabilitation field.

Riley loves seeing and helping people smash their goals. These may be on the back of an injury or simply a means of improving yourself. 

Being born and bred in Ararat, Riley may be a familiar face to many, making him very approachable with your goals. His interests include sport (particularly football), fitness, and general wellbeing. He is actively involved with a few local sporting clubs, including holding the role as captain of the Ararat Rats Football team.

Maureen has a long history working in administration and enjoys working in environments that have a lot of people contact.  

Maureen lives on a farm with her husband, farming sheep and growing grape vines. She has five children and eight grandchildren and is very family oriented.

During these years, Hannah developed a home visit program where therapists would attend more disabled clients homes to allow this demographic access to rehabilitation. 

Hannah then spent a year working with a Neurological client base, working with the NDIS and TAC. 

Hannah has a particular passion for Neurological Physiotherapy, NDIS as well as Women’s Health / pre and post natal therapy. 

Maureen Brady

Blake has previously worked in Early Childhood Education for 5 years in variety of roles including directing a Childcare Service to proudly representing Australia as a youth facilitator overseas.

Blake’s goal is to create a smooth-running practice and ensure that everyone who walks through our doors is welcomed, happy and well looked after. 

Blake and his family are local to Ararat and are strong within our community. When he is not working, Blake is either looking for his next adventure, walking his dog or creating artwork.

blake cox-davis

Lyndsey has a long background in customer service, specialising in the hospitality and disability sectors.

She has worked as an integration aide for 13 years in schools, supporting children with a disability. She has also worked for Hire Up, providing support for people with disabilities, in their daily life activities. In hospitality, Lyndsey worked across roles in restaurants, Grampians Estate Winery, Ararat City Town Hall and in event management.

Her goal is for you to have the best experience and service from the moment you first make contact with us.

As a newcomer to Ararat, Lyndsey is looking forward to getting to know the regulars at Ararat Physio and making clients feel welcome. Outside of work, she enjoys catching up with friends and family.
